This interactive session explores the often-overlooked history of approximately 400,000 Jews in Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, and Libya during World War II, examining anti-Jewish laws, forced labor, and deportation policies, engaging with personal testimonies and archival photographs, and highlighting how North African Jewish experiences expand and challenge Europe-centered Holocaust narratives.

Virtual Tour: The Hall of Camps – In Search for Humanity
Thursday, January 22, at 1:00 PM EST
The Hall of Camps is one of the museum’s most powerful exhibitions, depicting the systematic annihilation of Europe’s Jews. Through moving testimonies and striking artifacts – among them a detailed model of the Treblinka camp built by one of its few survivors – it confronts visitors with both the horror and resilience of the human spirit.
Throughout this interactive tour, participants will engage with narratives of resilience, courage, and strength of character, highlighting the enduring capacity of the human spirit to sustain hope even in the darkest moments.
